Hi everyone.

I was somewhat raised as a christian and my DF was raised catholic. We will be raising our son neither, although we will teach him about christianity. Our philosophy is that we believe in nature and that there is a higher power in all things.

I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how we could lay it out as far as the ceremony goes. I would like some poems said that are more spiritual and have some sort of naturalistic element to it. I'm also really into Buddhism, so it would be neat to have an element of that as well. I would also like to honor DFs catholic background, just not sure how to do that.

I have no idea where to start with this...so any help would be appreciated.

"O God, We give you thanks for the blessing you have bestowed upon us family in giving us a child. Confirm our joy by a lively sense of your presence with us, and give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we seek to bring this child to love all that is true and noble, just and pure, lovable and gracious, excellent and admirable.

Prayer for the parents:

"Almighty God, giver of life and love, bless N. and N. Grant them wisdom and devotion in the ordering of their common life, that each may be to the other a strength in need, a counselor in perplexity, a comfort in sorrow, and a companion in joy. And so knit their wills together in your will and their spirits in your Spirit, that they may live together in love and peace all the days of their life."
