Allergy wikis

Thread Starter

So that we don't lose them or forget about them, a list of the wikis to try and make some sense of the biochem/genetic/detox stuff.

Vitamin And Supplement Cheat Sheet - Short version of what various vitamins do, why you might think about them in the allergy context, rough ideas for figuring out dosage, food sources, etc

All About Choline - Choline, SNPs, methylation, fatty liver, egg yolks, beets, wheat, interaction with folate, etc.

Mood Neurotransmitters - Serotonin, dopamine, GABA, glutamate, norepinephrine, acetylcholine.  What they feel like and look like.

Genetics And Detoxification - Yasko vs 23andme SNPs for starting to figure nutritional needs based on genetics (MTHFR, COMT, CBS, MTRR, etc)

I am adding a link to the new wiki Tanya just posted so that we can keep up with it:

Artificial colors, salicylates, Feingold diet, and sulfation:

And for those who haven't played with the whole wiki thing yet... it's basically a group document, anyone can modify it, and I don't actually have a lot of experience with salicylate intolerance--basically from lurking here, and then watching DS slowly react to the accumulation of red dye in the candy canes this year.  And for us, I'm suspecting magnesium (being borderline, then getting low) more than molybdenum, which I think is the usual limiting factor in people who are sensitive to salicylates (and maybe amines too, which I haven't mentioned in the wiki yet).

So, if there's something you think should be added or moved around, it's an open document, for us all to create as we wish.  I was hoping it would be a place to start getting a grasp on what sals intolerance is, how it relates to the other things (feingold and amines and artificial colors/flavors) and then how to improve tolerance by bulking up the bandwidth of the sulfation pathway.
