I'm wondering if anyone has read Changing Bodies, Changing Lives? It's the Our Bodies, Ourselves sexuality book for teens. Anybody have it? Or read it? I'm thinking about getting it for dd. She is ready for next step book since I got her What's Happening to my Body Book for Girls.

opinions, recommendations?

I own Our Bodies, Ourselves and can't decide if I should just give that one to her, or get her the teen one??

i'm wondering tha exact same thing for my dd

if you decide to get the teen version, please lmk how she likes it~dd's skimmed through my edition of the womyn's obos, and i think it was a bit too in depth for her~but she claimed she liked it (but i noticed her reading & re-reading the same chapters, lol).

We were all given them in High School as part of our "weekly chats with the psychologist/nurse in small groups" - a sort of alternative to health/sex ed. It was an all girl's school.

Anyway, a great book and very helpful. Speaks to them not like children and is very respectful. I remember going to it for answers to several questions I didn't want to ask my mother.

I read it as a teenager; one of my friends had it. I thought it was excellent. It taught me some things I hadn't known before---and I was very well-informed!

I just checked out a copy from our local library. I skimmed it, and gave it to my ds, 13. He is reading it, although he won't talk to me much about it. It is up to date, and very to the point. I'd say it covers just about anything a teen would want to know.

I read it and gave it to my ds when he was a teen many years ago. I agree with what the other posts said about it. Great book!

this was the text we used for the UNitarian Universalist Church sex Ed program i went through in HS. even though my version is 10 years old, i still refer to it periodically. i give it a thumbs up.

What great timing! They've been using this book in my 11 year old son's pre-teen/teen group at our UU fellowship and he asked me to order it for him. Since it's by the authors of Our Bodies, Our Selves, I felt pretty good about ording it but still had a few doubts, but this thread has convinced me to go ahead and get it for my son.

Thank you!
