Swollen hands

Thread Starter
26 wks and all of the sudden my hands are really swollen and they tingle. They don't hurt and the weird thing is no other part of me is swollen at all. I tried elevating them and soaking and nothing has helped. They're *really* swollen, too, like double their size in two days.
Ive never been swollen at all with pg, so I don't know if this is a big deal?
Advice? Worrisome or annoying?

Eta: yk, now that I think, my labia are swollen, too, but that's been going on off and on for weeks....

I would mention sudden swelling to my HCP as it can be a sign of pre-e.

In my personal experience, my late-preg swelling goes away when I drink lots of water and cut out ALL sugar, wheat, and other refined carbs.

I am 27 weeks and swelling started for me about a month ago. I started accupuncture and massage and the swelling went away really fast. It would help to have your blood pressure taken and have it checked out. For me it was just normal swelling with pregnancy.

Increasing your water intake will help to.

Could be pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome as well.  I agree too that the BP should be ruled out first.

If it's carpal tunnel, massage, ice and stretching can help with some of your symptoms.

Good luck!

I have pregnancy induced carpel tunnel and stretching has helped along with massage. It's almost gone since i saw my massage therapist a few days ago.
