Name poll

soo... I think I've asked for name advice about a million times but, mamas, my family is rude and I just wanted to see what you all thought between our final two choices bc I really want to call our boy something besides "the boy".
DH and I prefer Eden and Vale. Vale just feels like this baby's name. I love the sound and meaning, esp with Eden. But every person irl we have told has been weird about it and it is making us doubt it for sure. People say it isn't a name or that it is a girls name mostly.
I know we shouldn't have said anything, but once we did, I sorta wanted to get a feel for the general reaction.
We really like Asher, too. It is certainly our second choice, but it isn't a bad choice at all, yk?
Full names would probably be
Eden Lenora & Vale Lucien
Or
Eden Elise & Asher Vale

(middles not set in stone, tho, so please vote on first name only)

I know we can't name the baby for other people, but I'm trying to think what my baby would want, too, because I don't want to be selfish and have baby boy end up suffering for it. and I guess I'm wondering, if we have a perfectly good second choice, if we should go with that cuz its safer or whatever...

I actually like both choices! However, in my experiences, babies often have a way of naming themselves...and if Vale is really feeling like this baby's name and you DON'T use it, will you not have regrets? I say go with your heart on this one.

A nice compromise might be something like Vale Asher, as Asher is a little more known (and boyish) than Lucien. That way if he can always go with his middle name when he's older if he chooses. That said, i like Lucien, too.

I love the names Eden and Vale. This is your decision, and you should go with your heart! And the fact that you and your husband both agree-that speaks volumes. 

If someone asks what you are naming the babies-just tell them robot and nailpolish. its no ones business and the impact of a persons opinion is usually not helpful.

I would have named my oldest an entirely different name if I had not talked about my choice in pregnancy.

I like Eden Elise and Asher Vale...but I really like Eden and Vale better than Eden and Asher.  Maybe just wait until they're born?  Whenever we name our kids I could careless what everyone thinks...they are YOUR babies!

Go with Eden and Vale.  If that's what they look like, it truly is meant to be.

I can't vote! I love vale and Asher! Lol! I do like the names together with one being the first and one being middle...it really could go either way! You should have had triplets...then you wouldn't be choosing! Ahahahahhahahahah!!!!

I also think choosing names for family sake isn't right. This is YOUR baby, not theirs....they got their chance! Lol

I like Vale and Asher, both sound nice. And hasn't anyone heard of Val Kilmer?  Geesh ;)  I have gotten lots of flack for our name choices too.  People come around.  Go with your gut.

I sorta feel like that about names too- that babies sometimes name themselves. TBH, I have no idea where we even came up w/ Vale, I really don't. It just was like all of the sudden there on the top of our list. That is important to me, too, but if it is a horrible name, then I don't want to be selfish, yk?

In regards to Vale Asher. That's actually what I would ideally name him. Except that our last name starts w/ a J. That would make his initials VAJ. The general consensus of the millions of strangers I've asked is that VAJ is a mean set of initials to give a kid, and I was on the fence to begin with about whether it was okay or not, so we're not going to go there, JIC. 

We're not set for sure on mns. Lucien was our third choice boy name, that's how it ends up in the middle for Vale (plus I LOVE the same-meaning, same-sound with Lenora). We might pick something different.

I love Vale but then I have uncles named Glen and Dale. So the natural boy names seem "right" to me.

I have a close deceased male relative named Gale, so I'm not actually sure where my familys hang up is... Surely they weren't mean to Gale....

I say go with the names you love.  Really.  My kids' names always get some head-scratching from friends and family members, but you know what?  They get over it. :)

I like both boy names, and I agree with PPs: go with what you love! Vale is a beautiful name (and I'm not hugely partial to "out-there" names: this isn't one, IMO). We never announce our name choices beforehand, for this very reason ;)
