Nursing twins through pregnancy

Thread Starter

My triplets are 13 mo old, 2 out of 3 nurse (1 has special needs and weaned at 10 months due to sucking/biting issues).  My other two are nursers, especially DD2.  I am 8 weeks pregnant now and definitely have been experiencing nipple pain, but would like to keep nursing them as long as possible.  Other than eating and drinking tons, do you wise mamas have any good advice.  I managed three nursers before, but they were all the same age.  I'm trying to imagine how to manage a newborn and 2 20mon old nursers. . . .and two other kids besides. . . . is this even possible?

I nursed my twins all throughout my last pregnancy. The twins were 17 months when I got pregnant and both continued to nurse til they were past 4 years old so I nursed 3 for 2+ years.

Advice  - hmm - sleep as much as possible, be okay with setting some limits so that you can maintain health and sanity - although by 8 weeks I felt I was through the worst of it in terms of discomfort other than when I got to about 37 weeks.  Eat healthy, enjoy that you have a legitimate reason to sit.

Good luck.

i nursed my two older toddlers through most of my twin pregnancy. i didn't make any milk (like not even drops) until my colostrum came in and then they both thought it was yuck and wouldn't nurse anymore.
