UC with cervical scarring AND after 4th degree tear (EPISIOTOMY EXTENSION)?

Hi, I'm new here.  Just wondering if anybody has gone on to have a safe pregnancy/homebirth after having a fourth degree tear and/or scarring on the cervix?  Were you able to go full term and then labour efficiently without the scarring causing issues (ei. preterm labour, stalled dialation)??

With my last birth at hospital I was given 2 episiotomies, both of which, during manual "extraction" by doc, extended all the way internally to my cervixgreensad.gif  also one of these episiotomies extended to 4th degree.  I am waiting to get into a specialist to rule out/confirm any cervical scarring.  I was told, by the surgeon who stitched me up, that "both episiotomies tore all the way to the cervix" but he "couldn't recall whether [he] did any special repair to the cervix itself"..he told me this several weeks pp.

Anyways DH and I really want another babe.  But we are holding off until I have gotten physio for the perineal trauma and also to get into this ob/gyn(4-6month waiting list) for an opinion on the cervix....sigh

Any opinion, suggestions, or stories of personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks all

extra perineal massage wouldn't hurt.  You can do a lot of work on scar tissue with massage... you'd be amazed.  Also, if it is something you would consider, acupuncture really reduces scars as well and you very well might find yourself an acupuncturist open to working on it.
