I just thought of this. Â My youngest ds is about 32-33lbs when we weigh him at home inside the house. Â It occurred to me that I should weigh him with his "winter" car gear on (one piece fleece suit and winter boots). Â It put him at about 35-36lbs. Â He's RF in a True Fit and I was hoping to keep him rf until the spring at least. Â Buying more carseats is not really feasible for us right now. Â I can't imagine having to take his boots on/off each time to keep him rf but maybe that's what we'll do.Â

Take off the boots in the car (ds has ones that are real easy to get off and on). Â Dress him in lighter clothing and use a carseat poncho. Â
Â
Or turn him forward facing. Â
Â
Or sell his seat and get one with a 40lb RF limit. Â
Â
Â
If he is over 35 with the clothes on, he is too heavy to RF in that seat. Â Â

Yah. Â I figured as much. Â Just wishful thinking I guess. Â
Â
Dressing him in lighter clothing is not an option during the winter here (regularly -20C/4F). Â He was only wearing a long sleeve shirt with the thin fleece suit over top. Â We also use a blanket in the car. Â Buying another seat is an option although not a convenient one for many reasons (cost, location, etc...) not to mention his twin sister is right behind him so it would mean buying two new seats.
Â
We'll probably end up removing the boots for a time although we already have to work at keeping them warm without winter coats so it's just one more thing to have to do. Â And then turn him forward facing. Â He's 31 months now.
