Pronunciation and grammer question

My DS is almost 2.5 years old and his speech is really starting to pick up.  I'm just wondering when his pronunciation of some words will get clearer or if this is something I should worry about right now.  I can understand him for the most part.  Some examples are the 'tr' sound as in truck and hard c sounds in some words.

As far as grammer, I've been trying to correct it but I don't think he gets that I'm trying to help him cause he'll correct me back.  He'll say 'My do it', or 'my got it', using my instead of I.  At what age does a child understand proper grammer and can learn to use it?

I think it's just a gradual process.  My DS will be three in March and his grammar and pronunciation have been slowly improving.  He still can't pronounce the "L" at the beginning of words so he substitutes a "Y" sound for it ("lemon" sounds like "Yemen" for example) and his "R" usually sounds more like "W" but he has most other sounds right.  He had "me" and "you" backwards for quite some time but has had it right for a couple months now.  But he still gets the tense wrong with verbs sometimes, calls one mouse "a mice", etc.  I have noticed that his pronunciation is much better when he speaks to other people than it is with me and DH.

I wouldn't worry about pronunciation for a loooong time.  Also, English grammar is ridiculously irregular.  That's why so many of our kids have trouble with literacy.  Pronouns in English are also used irregularly. Just be glad that your kid can use them at all!!
