Norton's Antivirus Alerts: False Alarm

Today we received reports that some users across the network were receiving Norton Antivirus alerts about an intrusion alert. The risk was being reported by Norton as the "HTTP Zombie Exploit Toolkit Request."

We have confirmed that this is a false positive with 100% certainty. Norton released new virus definitions last night and today. We are reporting the false positive to the Norton team. Our engineering team is still investigating the issue but we have definitively determined this is not a real attack of any kind - simply a false Norton trigger.

Very sorry for the inconvenience!

Update:

We determined this was in fact a false positive related to the way we count the number of views a thread has received. We made a minor modification to the way we named this functionality which should prevent Norton users from seeing this false positive report.  The community was never under any attack, this was simply a false alarm from Norton based on their new security update. Norton is also releasing updates in an hour related to this issue: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/HTTP-Zombie-Tool-Exploit/m-p/377762/highlight/true#M143207

If you continue to have problems, please clear your computer's cache. If you continue to experience Norton notifications, please post to this thread to let us know. Thanks!
