Questions from a n00b...

I've been transitioning lately into things that reminded me of the (very little) I've read here about TF, NT, etc. I have a few questions...

-- Does TF/NT require a lot of meat eating? I'm not a huge fan of it. I love seafood, and a little chicken or turkey here and there. Beef, I could go without it forever and not miss it, but maybe there are other ways of preparing it that I'm not aware of.

-- I have organic olive and coconut oil, but can't remember off the top of my head to use the coconut oil except that I subbed it for butter sometimes. What are other common uses for it?

-- I'm about to send off papers to start our membership to a buying group from a local farm...so that means organic, grassfed meats, raw dairy, eggs, etc. I am really excited! :D Is there anything I should try first? I can buy a whole chicken...is that worth it? I figure it is more economical to buy a whole chicken and then I can make broth (right? We use broth a lot) and probably other things that I'm not aware of.

-- I've tried making soy yogurt, and it was a big old fail. What about yogurt from cow milk? And kefir? An old roommate made kefir smoothies that were delicious, and I know you can make your own starter and "grow" more from it...I would really like to do that.

-- Are sprouts part of NT/TF?

Thanks...I'll probably have more to add to this as I research more...

One more question...what do you drink during the day? I take medication that makes my mouth really dry. I have tea and coffee stashed in my desk here at work, but sometimes I end up with a diet Coke even though I know darn well that it is pretty much drinking poison (IMO, anyway)...but sometimes that's the only thing that makes me feel like I'm getting any relief from it.

Also, weight loss. I need to start exercising consistently, definitely. I'm 5'4" and 130, which isn't terrible, but I'm very small-framed and pretty soft in most areas. I don't like it. :( Carbs and sugar are my worst enemy when it comes to fat loss, I know, so I hope this method of eating can help with that. I think I have a bit of a carb/sugar addiction, though. The diet soda doesn't help that, either.
