I hadn't read the books until I read them to DD a couple of years ago, and I remember being annoyed when at least one MDC thread I was reading had an important HP spoiler. I know a lot of people have read them, but I bet there are a bunch of others like me who weren't interested enough to give them a try until they had a kid who was old enough for them. I think spoiler tags are a nice courtesy.
