Back to back ear infections - when to start worrying?

I know that ear infections come and go but DS (10.5 months) had a double ear infection about a month ago.  He took an antibiotic for that and it went away.  Two weeks later, he gets another one.  Is it mainly stemmed from teething?  He's about to cut teeth on the top - you can see the white through the gum.  I just feel awful for the little guy!!  I pray that tubes are to never become involved, but when should I start to worry about the frequency of the ear infections??

Hmmm. I may have the same issue currently, so I'm bumping up.

Hopefully someone has some insight.

With 2 close in a row like that, I'd be worried.

I'd do (or did, some of this is from experience):

-find someone who does cranial sacral therapy, that stopped DD's ear infections

-look for food intolerances, dairy's a biggie, but there are others

-learn some at-home techniques for dealing with them, massage to help encourage drainage helped a lot when my 3yo woke up at 10pm one night crying, telling me his left ear hurt a lot

-work on gut health with probiotics (and consider food intolerances, my kids' digestion was helped by both independently)
