DS and I are sitting at home and there was a knock on the door. It was our neighbor and her son. Her son is almost 3 and ds is 4 1/2. Her son wanted to play with ds. Both our children are extremely shy, so her son wouldn't say anything, and she asked ds if he wanted to play and ds wouldn't answer her, so I accepted for him because I could tell he did want to play. Our kids are so quiet that they are in the yard swinging next to each other (they still play parallel rather together) and they aren't saying a word. Even if one of us addresses them, we get a nod or head shake. No noise. WOW!! That is not normal for my household. At home he talks, yells, laughs, sings loudly, and hers is the same way. But, put these two together and we both get some peace and quiet.
Just had to share. Maybe we'll set up playdates more often just to get some time without noise. Of course this was only their 3rd time playing together, so maybe they'll get louder the more time they spend together.
