Hi all.  I'm looking for a good overnight dipe.  I love fuzzi bunz, and have considered getting seconds, since the cost is decent, but I'm not sure.  Is there one similar?  Or can anyone tell me a good dipe to use?  I need them for a 3.5 and almost 6yr old.  I had used these ones called Wonder (something) that I liked, but they stopped making them I think.  I don't like prefolds/covers, because they get a rash right away w/wetness.  So pocket dipes have always worked for us.  My almost 6yr old is a pretty heavy wetter, so me being able to increase the absorbency of the insert is a plus for me. Thanks :)

over night dipes?
I would suggest the Flip with a doubler. It is a cover and a stay dry microfiber insert. I find that it wicks moisture away from their skin very very well. The top of the pad often feels dry still. I do use a doubler over night b/c my little one is a heavy wetter over the 12 hours he sleeps. The cover gets pretty big, though you could use the pad in any cover.Â

I swear by happy hempys w a wool cover. PUL is a guaranteed leak for us. My fave wool for nighttime is babyology, but Pipers Closet is a close 2nd. Babyology is a pull on, but PC is a wrap, and she's happy to do a custom size on them. The HH is now available as a OS dipe, but you have to look for it, its brand new. And you'd probably need an XL for your older one.
I stuff them w 2 pfs and at least 1 doubler for my 15 mo. It has a fleece inner, and it keeps my little guy's skin dry all night.

FuzziBunz are awesome! They make up the majority of our stash, and we can use Mediums or One Sizes for overnights with no problems. With the Mediums, I usually add a hemp doubler. For the one size I'd highly recommend trying out the Joey Bunz hemp inserts. They are super absorbent, trim-fitting, and not prone to compression leaks like microfiber is. Do you change your LOs at all during the night? That definitely helps, but even if you don't, using a pocket diaper is the easiest way IMO to vary the absorbency because you can stuff them with whatever you want.

Well, my son is only a little over 3 months old and I can't for the life of me remember what I did for my older 2 at nighttime when they were young and in CD's.  That being said, goodmama fitteds work well for us at night, with a wool cover (we use an aristocrats).  I've also used bamboo fitteds with hemp doublers inside and that seems to work too.  The goodmamas i have are made of organic bamboo velour, and the velour seems to do some wicking of the moisture off his skin, b/c he frequently gets  a bit rashy if i leave him in a prefold too long during the day, but even after all night nursing several times (10pm-7amÂ
what can i say?  he's the 3rd kid so i'm not changing him every 2 hours like i did dd1) :)  he doesn't seem rashy after i take that nighttime diaper off. Â
Â
you can get goodmamas for about $15-18 used on the TP or at diaperswappers. Â we got all three of ours used on craigslist...

Thanks :)  I'm still not decided.  I didn't think about covering a prefold w/ fleece, since I was thinking it would shift. I had a bunch too, that I sold last year. Those bumgenius look pretty neat, and similar to fuzzi bunz.  I'd like to try those. Â
I don't change them at night.  I think the only time I ever did was when they were very young, or if they had a bowel, since the wet went through the fleece on the fb's.  I have them use the potty before bed, but they are still wet most mornings.  I'm using 7th generation now, I just prefer not to.Â

I'll add another vote for the Flip system!! It is the ONLY diaper set-up that we have used successfully at night on DD without leaks. Â I back the stay-dri insert with a homemade hemp doubler and have never had a problem. Â I have a huge variety in my stash... pockets (BG, FB, WAHM), AIO's, prefolds & fitteds, fleece, wool, and PUL covers, but the Flip is the only thing we use at night.

I checked out the link...the 1.99 price is for the newborn size only; the one-size is 4.95.
Not sure why I don't love the system....the fit just doesn't seem great on my ds, but its fine for nighttime use. and i love snappied prefolds with wool covers for every day use.

I JUST posted about this same issue which I, too, recently had... I posted on my blog my solution cutting up a old fleece blankie we had. Worked perfectly as a stay-dry barrier w/ prefold and cover! Good luck, mama!
