another waldorf doll thread - nose help please

I am making my first Waldorf doll and I want her to have a cute little nose.  I sewed one into the tubular stockinet and it looked great but when i slipped the interlock skin over the top the nose vanished.

Does anyone have any hints for me?

Thank you. :)

I've done a nose with a wool ball outside the stockinette.  I have no idea if there is a "right" way though.  It worked and other than being dingy is still fine over five years later.

so you just put a little piece of wool between the stockinette and the skin fabric?  and it stayed?

No, it was a tight somewhat felted ball and stitched on through the stockinette layer.  I know it was not stitched tightly enough to misshape it more than a wee bit--it had just enough stitching to keep it from shifting.  I do not remember well enough to describe it better, so I hope you will get more responses.
