Hello,

I am 40 weeks pregnant and I am 31 years old. This will be our first baby and I am wondering if there are any mothers out there who have had a successful birth at home at this age or older with first baby.

Thank you in advance :)

both my sister's had children past 30 (not first time pregnancies but almost!)

the first was 32, she had her first child 15 years earlier

my other sister is 35 and had her last child 10 years prior.

You will do fine! A lot of women have homebirths past 30 with no complications :)

I was 31 at my first birth (c/s) and I was 33 at my 1st homebirth VBAC, 34 at my second, and will be 35 at my next birth (planned homebirth). Totally possible!!!

Thank you ladies for your replies!  It means a lot to me :)

I have a feeling everything will be alright and baby( him or her) will show up very soon.

Trying a UC birth and hoping everything goes well.

I was 32 when I had a home birth with my first baby.  It was hard work, but there were no issues.

I'm in a similar situation as you mama.  I'll be 31 in a week and our first little one is expected at the beginning of April (we're planning a homebirth).  Sending you lots of easy labour vibes!

My first baby was C-section from Breech Presentation and I wasn't in labor,at 32 yo. I was cluesless that a Homebirth  was even possible back then , . Second Baby  Home birth VBAC(HBAC) at 35 yo   at almost 42 weeks preggo. It was suck a beautiful experience!

Right now I think I am in early labor( not sure). I have been having a lot heavier abdominal cramps with backaches. No a real bloody show yet, but the contractions do feel they are coming in a pattern. I have been like this since yesterday. Let's hope baby.gif comes soon smile.gif.

i was 34 when i had my frst (and only) baby at home. it was a planned homebirth turned accidental UC. it was absolutely amazing, powerful, and perfect. i don't think your age alone should be any reason you can't have a great homebirth.

I'm 34 and planning a homebirth with my first baby any day now!  BtotheG - glad to hear yours went so well!

I just had my first baby at home at age 36.  My midwife told me that one of her clients has had a couple at home after 40.  You can do it!  It is hard work, but a wonderful and worth while experience.

OP I think you must have had your baby by now! Hope everything went beautifully.

I'm 30 and doing a HB for my first this June.  So nice to hear there are others who are doing/have done this too!
