I thought the chart showing the percent change in gestational age at birth was really interesting -- that deliverly at 41 weeks has fallen 40% since 1990, and delivery at 42 weeks has fallen 50%.

And people wonder why I would want to wait to start labor naturally.  I love the table at the end.  Very telling.  And sad at the same time knowing we have not improved outcomes at all.

This was quite a statement: "There are now more babies born at 39 weeks than at full term." Incredible!

 

And, "At 35 weeks, the brain is only two-thirds of what it will weigh at 40 weeks.”
