billies and birthing nannies:another goat question

how necessary is it to separate the billie while the nannie is about to give birth?

it's super snowy/icy here and it's going to be difficult to separate him and keep them all happy.  will he hurt the babies or cause her to not nurse one if there are multiples?  he's sweet and pretty young.

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't know if the ground is going to be thawed in time to put up a separate paddock.

Assuming that they have always been together and get along it really should be a non issue. We only separated the bucks from the does as they got towards breeding age and that is because we were breeding pure bred goats and I wanted to control who sired who. Goats naturally live in mixed sex groups.
