Is Being a Night Owl a Legitimate Reason To Homeschool? - Page 2

Is being a morning person a legitimate reason to send your child to government school?

Do you really have to have a reason or justify home schooling? You do not need a reason to home school. If anything, you should have a good reason to send your children away to government schools rather than educating them yourself.

Is honoring your child's natural sleep/wake times something you considered when choosing to homeschool?

Thanks for anyone who has BTDT and can share your experience.

As you can see from reading my posts, I'm not looking for a reason to "justify" anything. I was wondering if anyone else had children who naturally slept late and whether or not that was one, of MANY, reasons they might have chosen to home school. Lots of people shared their personal stories of how home schooling is working well for their children who are "night owls."

YOU might not need a reason to home school your kids, but I think the CHOICE as to how to best educate my child should be made after looking at all of the variables involved: my child's personality, my child's learning style, our family dynamic, our family resources, types of educational programs available outside the home, quality of schools and their programs available to us, etc.

Quite frankly, your post seems very judgmental and rude, not to mention unnecessary.  Home school is NOT for every child and family, just like public/private school is NOT for every child and family. I'd go so far as to say most people DO have reasons behind each choice they make for their child...including the choice of what type of "schooling" their child receives.
