can I use diaper ointment w/ Cloth?

We are planning to use cloth as soon as our 4 week old is big enought to fit into them, but she currently is on the mend from some horrible diaper rash.  Therefore, I am currently using diaper ointment...if we start transitioning over to cloth can I still use ointment?  Are there differnent washing techniques needed?

Depends on the ointment. You cant use an ointment w zinc oxide w CDs, it'll ruin the dipes. There are any number of diaper creams that dont have zinc though.

I've used several diaper creams with my prefolds, and they will not ruin the diapers as long as you're a bit careful. Here is a handy chart indicating which creams are best with diapers, which ones stain or stink, etc.
