Leather couch or couch-less living room? - Page 2

Our home is couch-less. We have a big comfy UK chair in the living area (the pillows can come off and make a floor lounger), a mini reclining chair for DS, and the chairs at the 2 computer stations. We had a leather couch before DS was born, and I miss it!

Love the leather. Everything wipes off it and I've had it 12 years now. Still looks nearly new until you spot the cat marks.

I love leather because it cleans up so well.

We do not currently have a couch in our family room (basically because I have not yet been able to find one I like at a reasonable cost.  Still searching...)  but we do have 4 large leather chairs and 2 leather ottomans.  Makes for a very comfy room.

I love couches for some areas.  But chairs can work too as long as they are comfy.  Add ottomans and you can lounge in them as well.  I also prefer chairs for entertaining/parties.

I am holding off on replacing my furniture till the kids are older but I have toyed around with leather for when I do. But I am worried that when my Dh has his keys on his belt loop and plops down on the couch forgetting about them it would cause a hole. I have never really experienced a leather couch. They sound very durable. Is there a certain leather that is better (Like a name or way to know which one the thicker one is?)

Thanks, sorry for crashing the thread.
