Help with Elimination Diet

Thread Starter

So, our naturopathic doctor has recommended an elimination diet to see if that may help our little one sleep better..

No: dairy, egg, citrus, gluten, barley, rye, soy, sugar, corn/corn products

Does anyone have some good links or recipes to help with some ideas...

So far i'm having gluten free oatmeal for breakfast, homemade vege soup for lunch, and protein and vege for dinner...but it's only day 2 and already getting a bit boring!

Any suggestions?

Things that helped when I was on elimination diet....

Coconut, Lots of avocado to make sure I was getting some fat and it's a good mayo substitute for sandwiches.  It looks like you are allowed nuts so that is good!  If you don't want to invest in gluten free flours you can get mixes.  I made cheese-free calzones with the bob's redmill pizza crust and even baked it up as bread for sandwiches.  Quinoa was another breakfast option.  I think I made a lot of hash browns too.  I made some creamy veggie soups using rice milk and arrowroot to thicken.   Burrito bowls were good and filling: some rice, beans, guacamole, veg and meat.  This blog really was a great resource. http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/

Not all the recipes will work for you but some will or may just needs slight modification.

I hope it helps your little one!  It's so worth it to find answers!
