DH wants to UC the next one- can't wait to get pregnant again! :D

We accidentally UC'ed with our baby (planned HB, MWs didn't make it in time due to my labor being <30 mins) who was born on Dec. 29th. I really wanted to UP/UC with this pregnancy since I had a lovely, uneventful HB with a MW when I had my DD from a previous relationship who is now 6 and really felt like I could UC from there on out, but DH was really skittish and has zero experience with HB, so I figured what the heck, we can get a midwife if he really needs an outside care provider to feel safe.

Well, now that DH has seen how hands-off and beautifully simple the care we recieved from our MWs was, and been through an amazing UC which included him catching the baby, he's saying he's totally down with UC'ing the next one :)  He can't stop talking about how amazing our UC was and how great he felt catching the baby!

I've got an awesome dh that is into UC, too, and having him totally trust me and my body and be completely supportive like that...is just such a wonderful joy. I hope it doesn't take you too long to get preg again when you're ready. =)

That is so wonderful for you both!! After spending years while we were TTC being sort of shocked and appalled that I wanted a UC, when we found out we were pg, my dh mysteriously became fully on-board and supportive! Actually, he's more excited about it this time than I was before! (I think that recent Mothering article really helped things along, honestly.)  I couldn't believe it... and I couldn't be more grateful. I didn't even realize how much I was missing his support with the first two (hospital births where I felt he had more faith in the staff than in me ) until having it now. Coolest. Thing. EVER.... at least for our marriage. And the benefits have spilled over into other areas of our life.

Just came back to this thread to say that we did indeed UC with our next one, who was born in water at home (I caught this time!) and is now seven and a half weeks old :)

Congratulations! That's so awesome to hear. I am planning on UP/UCing and I can't wait until we are ready to ttc. Did you UP as well?
