If you have a Berkey, where do you keep it? Can it be freestanding?

I'm trying to figure out what sort of water filter to buy.  I'd love to get a Berkey, but I don't know where I'd keep it.  It needs to be elevated, since the spigot is at the bottom.  I have measured my cabinets, and I have no convenient countertop space where it would fit (my cabinets are 18.5" from the countertops, but the Berkey I want is 23" tall (if I remember right).

So, I'm wondering... can the Berkey be freestanding?  Like next to a wall?  If so... what would it stand on?

I would appreciate any Berkey advice you can share!  :-)

We have ours on the end of a butcher block table. The filters last for a long time, and the water is awesome coming out of it. One of our neighbors is a science teacher and he was amazed at the filter. We're filtering lake water so it's an amazing difference between the top (unfiltered) and the bottom (filtered) water, in clarity, etc. I love ours.

We have ours on a bar counter, which is a few inches higher than the regular kitchen counter.  When I move I'm going to put it on a kitchen cart/island thing since there isn't any room on the kitchen counter.  I thought I saw that they sold a bottom piece stand for the berkey so you could put it on the floor.
