Red bumps on arms and legs; Thoughts?

Hi everyone,

My three and a half year old son is just getting over a cold that was accompanied by a fever (a bit warmer than low-grade, but not worrisome, and certainly not enough to slow him down). A day or two ago I noticed a few red bumps on his forearm. They look almost like bug bites, but they're not. They not inflamed looking, nor do they look like they're pus-filled. They're just little, hard, red bumps. A few minutes ago, my husband alerted me to the fact that the bumps are now on both arms and legs. They are not on his torso/back/face/hands/feet. His bottom has what I thought was some dry, bumpy skin on it (that I attributed to recent swimming in a hotel pool that was VERY chlorinated), but they may be an extension of the bumps that are on the rest of his body.

Any thoughts? Also, thanks!

Also, the bumps are neither itchy nor painful, according to my son. Thanks again.
