New to waldorf, birthday help, 9 year old

I am in need of suggestions. First off does anyone have a link to a web page that talks about 9 year old. I know there is something major about turning 9 and the 9 year old.

We are just having a family day. I am want to make him feel special though. We don't have any extra money so this is going to be hard. I am crocheting him a birthday crown. I have also crochet a checkers game and a rug for his room. as presents. He has requested a couple of balls too. so I will make those for him. I need a pattern though. I think i want to make the bean ones, I think they are called hacky sacks?

Does any one have any ideas on how to make his day special. Where can I find a birthday verse?  I will be making a cake too. Other than that that is all I got. So any suggestions would be great. His birthday is the 22 of Jan.

Also would like ideas for my soon to be 8 year old. I have another son that turns 8 March 2. His will be a family day thing too. we don't do kid parties often. We let them have a kid party at the age of 7.
