How long did you wait ?

Hi guys ,

I have a question especially for you VBAC mothers . I had a c/s in May of 2010 (my third) and even though I know now , that I am a good candidate for a vbac , how long did you wait before trying to conceive again ? 

I am kind of itching to try again , I just don´t want to risk doing it TOO early , but my age is also a factor to consider , so I also don´t want to wait forever , either .

Personally, I'd wait a minimum of 2 years, but that's not necessarily because of the healing, but for your own health too. Pregnancy takes a lot of the moms stores, and I think it's best for everyone to give your body enough time to store up nutrients in between prenancies.

I am kind of in the same situation and I have been doing a lot of research into spacing of deliveries and VBACs. I've asked many of the midwives in Seattle what they feel comfortable with if I want a VBAC and the common answer is at least 18months between deliveries. This gives your body and incision a chance to heal.
