Wool longies or just soakers??

My sister is going to knit some for my baby, but I can't decide if she should make longies or soakers.  What would you choose?

I like longies best b/c they are dual purpose (pants and diaper cover).  Soakers are good though if you're in a warmer climate.  My son has so many pairs of recycled wool longies that I've sewn from thrift store sweaters.....these are really the only pants he ever wears!

Do you felt the ones you get from thrift stores, or just cut and sew? I felted one and it came out too thick and I heard you don't have to felt them.

Depends on the time of year. I like longies in the winter (omits a step) and soakers in the summer with nothing over top. Really need to get DS' new longies finished!!
