Getting started....

I have a 3 week old and would like some advice on getting started.  I was thinking about not using a cover to know when DS2 is going and then starting to cue him and maybe try the potty.  I have a 3 year old as well that is not using the potty and may just do the same with him :)

We are going to be traveling in Feb, so I don't want to do too much too fast unless this is easier than I imagine it!

I didn't start DS until he was 2.5 mos, so someone else might have better advice than me on starting such a little one.

FWIW my suggestion would be to just make the cue noises when you catch DS2 going for now.  So try for naked/diaper free time and use a prefold w/o a cover.  This will give you time to learn his cues and for him to learn what the cue sounds mean.  Then when you're done traveling try cuing him over a bowl/sink/potty as much or as little as you feel comfortable with at the time.  Hopefully this sounds easy enough for you to get started with. 

Oh, and I really do suggest reading Christine Gross-Loh's book.  I just found it so helpful and informative!
