What cool thing is your kid doing right now?

DS is 6 and loves spies. He has a huge book about spies and loves watching things like Spy Kids. Right now he's developing his own spy code so that he can pass me and DH secret messages.

What is your kid doing right now that you think is really cool as well as being educational?

My DD who is 8 has always struggled with handwriting.  Her penmenship was really not anywhere near a typical 8 year old.  Some daysb I was unschoolish about it just letting her be and other days I would get so stressed that I would have her practice copy work.  Nothing helped get her Js to face the right way or not have backwards letters and letters tht rise at the end.  Yes we tried HWT with little success...until one day just a few weeks ago she asked to learn to wrote in script.  HOLY COW!!!  she can do it and LOVES doing it.  I find little scrip[t word written on various pieces paper througout the day.  AMAZING! 

So now script is pretty cool.  )

DS loves telling time. He got a watch for Christmas and loves to let us know what time it...ALL THE TIME  :)

At this very moment my 7 and 5 year olds are playing the guitars they got for Christmas.  They haven't had any formal lessons yet, but they are trying really hard to play in rhythm with each other and to make up their own songs.  It's rather amazing!
