Mistake on First Quarterly Report, What Should I Do?

Thread Starter

Hi,

I sent my 1st quarter report in back in November. There were no issues with it, but when I went to do our second quarter report, I noticed that I had made a mistake in the number of hours that I reported compared to the number we completed, I shorted us a bunch of hours.

Should I explain the difference or even make a note? We are in NY.

As it stands, I haven't included a note as to why the numbers seem different. I really doub't they look at the total hours...

Thanks

You're right, I doubt they will even notice.  I would include a note with your next quarterly explaining your mistake just in case they do, though.  Something like: An error was made on the 1st quarterly report, submitted in November 2010.  The reported hours should read 225+ (or whatever number you meant to include.)

Short and to the point.  I don't keep track of our hours, because he's learning so much even when he's not having official lessons.  I just have all of my quarterly reports say:  Hours of Instruction: 225+ hours

Do you want me to e-mail you a copy of one of Nik's quarterlies?  I have a basic form that I copy and paste into a new document and add a few little details to and it is done in 15 minutes or so.

We're in NY too. I don't keep track of our hours. I put 225+ on each quarterly report and move on.
