Sore throat --> emergen-c = hives?

Hi everyone,

DS1 (6yo) told me the back, back, back of his mouth hurt and pointed to the roof of his mouth in the back.  I took this as tge beginning of a sore throat so gave both boys some children's emergen-c with vitamin d3 drops.  A few minutes later I found DS1 on the couch with a very flushed face.  I then saw he has large flushed patches all over his body - hives?  Having no experience with hives at first I was very concerned and didn't know what was wrong.  Could the emergen-c have caused this?  Is this something to be concerned about?  Thanks.

Hives gone.  Sometimes the mama in me makes me a little crazy :)

I do think it was the emergen-c.  Anyone else ever have this happen?

Possibly could be the C.  Hives/rashes are always so hard to diagnose of course.  If the rash persists along with a sore throat I'd have him seen at your doc...
