Getting MOM to fall back asleep after a night waking. Tips?

So aside from the current teething blow-up and the developmental stuff, my almost 7 month old has had a pretty good track record of late. He wakes up once between 11-1, dad soothes him, then usually sleeps till 3:30, when I nurse, then gets up around 5:30 or 6. On a good night, he will sleep right till 3:30.

My issue is that when there's an issue, like with teething, or even sometimes after the 3:30 am feeding, I cannot go back to sleep. My sleep cycle is messed up. Has anyone dealt with this? It's really frustrating being very tired, yet not able to go back down myself.

So far, I am:

1) trying to go to bed and get up at the same time every day (sleep hygiene)

2) Sleepytime tea before bed

3) When it gets bad, I take Benadryl.

Are there other, maybe more naturopathic sleep teas that work better? What other remedies are available to me? I'm sure there's got to be a better solution than dosing myself with Benadryl.

Oh man I have so been there. At one point I thought I was going to go insane! What helps me is not looking at the computer for at least an hour before bed. Also my naturopath gave me a California poppy tincture that is HEAVEN but still safe for nursing lol. Good luck to you!
