Resources for teaching Greek?

My 8-year-old son has expressed an interest in learning Greek, much to my surprise.  I really have no idea where to start, or even if he wants to learn ancient vs. modern (or if it matters, but I'm sure it probably does).  There are some resources on Amazon that teach the Greek alphabet, but I thought I'd start here and see if anyone has any recommendations for me.  TIA!!

I haven't tried this but have heard some good things about it: Elementary Greek

I'm thinking of getting the alphabet book on amazon, I think it's a good place to start but in our case it's more just playing around with the letters rather than actually trying to learn Greek.

We're not learning Greek, but we are learning Latin using Song School Latin.  The company also offers Song School Greek.  Considering how much fun we're having with SSL and how much we're learning, I would definitely suggest SSG.  The page says

Quote:
Song School Greek is a lively and gentle introduction to Koine Greek, the language of the New Testament, and Modern Greek.

SSL users have found the teacher's guide to be unecessary, so I don't think you would need it for SSG, either.

Whatever you choose, have fun!

Aaaah - I knew I could count on the people here for some ideas.  Thanks!  I'll check that stuff out. . .
