Nice to meet you greene1.  Let us know if we can help you with anything.  It was tough being a single mom before I met my dh.  hug.gif's to you mama.

Welcome greene1!  Good luck on the job front, I´m starting a new job soon and also don´t want to announce my pregnancy yet so I know how you feel.  Have fun with your movie day!

Oh man, I so wish I could do that!  We just moved and we´re currently running around crazy doing errands (mostly stuff with documents) and that involves some very long bus rides in 108F weather, ahhh!! This was definitely not made for pregnant women with morning sickness!!!!!

I'm, ummmmm, 14DPO & have no symptoms yet. LOL! That's the main reason I was so surprised to see that bfp, I haven't felt the first blip of a pregnancy symptom yet. Well, a few cramps....

I wrote a to do list last night of things I want to absolutely get done this week so I can plan to lay on the couch for 10 weeks straight, moaning, starting in a week or two. LOL! lol.gif

Is anyone else planning ahead for that? I want to perfect my meal planner so I don't have to actually THINK about food, just follow the plan & cook it. And order a better baby gate for the family room so I can close myself off in there with the littles, etc.

We have a crazy, still not quite housetrained, toy eating, house destroying 4 month old HUGE puppy to add to the excitement around here as well.

It's still surreal that I'm here! love.gif

Oooooo, I'm feeling gross tonight! I'm so excited, I'm feeling my very first pregnancy symtpoms! Hoooray! love.gif I may feel a little differently about these feelings in a few weeks, LOL. But for now I'm all giddy to feel totally gross.

physmom- Where did you move to?  Sounds hot but nice!

zjande- That's great news!  Sort of...I hope it passes quickly for you.  My only symptoms have been hunger and hot flashes which catch me at the worst times!

Cathy- Glad you could quit your job.  Good luck finding something closer to home.

We just moved to Brazil. Very, very hot!  I'm looking forward to when all the moving is done and we can get a car with AC.

Ugh.  I am so glad I made it home without puking.  This pregnancy is going to be just like the one with my ds.  I really hope I get to 9-10 weeks soon.  I'm dying over here.  We'll see how it goes in the morning.  I have to be at work at 8am.

Still no major symptoms over here.  I think I am more tired than normal, and once in a while I get a wave of nausea but thats about it.  OH!  And I can't enjoy a cup of coffee first thing in the morning lol (major coffee drinker normally...).

I met with my midwife yesterday and the 'recommendations' here are to do a dating ultrasound, so I am going to do that at the beginning of february.  I figure its not really needed, but its pretty tempting to get a lil peek and see that everything is going okay.  :D

Cathy - hope your m/s behaves at work tomorrow ;)

physmom - I couldn't imagine not having a car with AC in that heat!!!!

Hey mamas, I have a question for y'all. Can you feel your uterus when you are just sitting or standing or going about your day? I don't mean palpating it, I mean just . . . feel it. Like something less than a cramp but you know it's there?

I have been calling myself "cramping," and sometimes there is a low-grade yet painful cramping feeling. But more often, it is just a constant presence of my uterus. Because I have been spotting for over 2 weeks, I am interested to know if others can feel their uterus, or if it's just me and this crazy pregnancy. dizzy.gif lol.gif I swear this pregnancy is going to send me over the edge!!

Ms. B. Sprout-I've started to notice a "pressure" against my pants which I guess is similar to what you're describing.

Liz-I know that urge is tempting to see heartbeat, etc.  This will be the first pregnancy I'm going to decline because I'm fairly certain about my dates.  Let us know how it goes!

Cathy-Hope you're feeling okay!

To all of us out there who survive on bagels and ramen type things: I was talking to my midwife about the things I usually crave, bread, pasta, and more pasta, and they both looked at each other and laughed and said, "Oh, the White Diet? Yeah all of our moms go on that for the first 3 months!" I guess it is really common to eat crummy for the first tri. too bad that won't stop the fat from accumulating!

Oh I am so on the "white diet" right now!  Craving pasta, pizza, etc.  I've literally had a french bread pizza every day for lunch for the past 10 days.  And I gobbled down pasta last night for dinner.  I attempted the salad but bleh!  I know for the first trimester I actually end up losing weight because I can barely eat anyway so whatever sounds good I eat.  I'll focus on good nutrition for the second trimester...wishful thinking...

Ashley - Yeah, I am pretty sure of my dates too since we were ttc and I was charting.  But Its still so tempting :S  Silly... I wish I could decline the blood work though.  I hate going in for that :(

Asprague - is poutine a part of the white diet?  I went out for an awesome lunch with a fellow mama friend of mine without kids - what a treat is that to be able to actually chat!  And we had poutine and a caesar salad..  mmm mmm good!  lol  But, I am good at gaining weight throughout the entire pregnancy so I need to be careful of the white diet ;)

I feel like a folate advertisement or something, but seriously the 'white' diet doesn't do it for me unless I just need quick calories.  My queasiness is most calmed by salads.  Raw veggies with salad dressing.  Cool, crunchy and vinagery.  Dark green leafy veggies are my best friend.  It's healthy, but it makes me laugh.  Who the heck takes salad dressing to calm their stomach?  Me when pregnant, apparently.  Same thing happened last time.

LOL so funnny, good to know I am not the only one...I am soooo craving carbs (and citrus fruits).  I've been eating greens, but not been easy.

mmm...now i need french fries!

I'm on the carb bandwagon. I am really concerned about weight gain as I didn't start this pregnancy in the best shape, actually I was the heaviest I have ever been when I was non-pregnant. My last two pregnancies I gained about 20 lbs in the first trimester because I could only stand white foods and eating made the nausea go away. So, this time around I am trying so hard to stay away from the white stuff! So far I think I am doing ok, but only because I am surviving on lo-cal white foods! I know it's so gross, but I just keep eating frozen weight watchers meals or bread with reduced fat cheese. I'm vegetarian so basically french bread pizzas and pasta. I don't want to gain more than 20 lbs this pregnancy, and my other two I gained over 50. I guess you could say I am pretty obsessed with it right now. Two days before my bfp I had joined weight watchers and was starting a new exercise routine. Then I got the bfp and it kind of threw me for a loop!

I think its a night time thing.  I was a ok today.  That was really rough last night.  I'm hoping tonight will be better since were having cheeseburgers instead of fish.  I was going to add some cottage cheese last night to dinner and I forgot and that might have helped.  Oh well, tonight I will have some with dinner for sure.

the white diet! lol I was definitely on that my first pregnancy... if pizza counts as white, which I think it does!!eat.gif

I gained over 60 pounds though, so that is definitely not happening this time around. eyesroll.gif I've had constant low lying nausea the past week, but it's worse when I don't eat protein, so I've been pounding down a lot of eggs lately!

re: uterus pressure-- I have been feeling that, for sure. it some times makes me worry because I had a miscarriage in October, so that's never far from my mind.  But I have to remind myself that I didn't have any "stretching pains"  before I  miscarried, just strong cramps after I started spotting/bleeding and what not.

time will tell... but I'm hoping there's just a lot of good action happening down there, and my body is accommodating it.

I had to look "poutine" up! Sounds good! Last pregnancy was a winter one so I caked every weekend cakes and cookies, and sometimes a batch of cookies mid-week to tide me over! I gained so much more that one than I did for my first! So my biggest goal is to NOT bake! I mean there is like 2 sticks of butter in every recipe, no wonder I gained so much. I am eating well enough, I choke down the veggies at dinner to be a good role model for the kid. I did make some BREAD yesterday to go with a split pea soup, both were delicious, but no more baking!!

No morning sickness yet, haven't had with previous pregnancies either. But I have been getting headaches all of the time! I just feel like lazing on the couch all day. Probably need to start taking an iron sup. and drinking more water...
