We moved to Brazil this past weekend. We´ve been here a number of times before (DH´s family is from here) and one thing I´ve learned is that the food does not agree with me! In the past if I avoided restaurants I was ok and could avoid getting sick. However, this time I got really sick last night and I have not been eating out! Saturday morning I did hav a small piece of bread at the airport (I´ve eaten there many times without any problems) but besides that everything I´ve eaten was homemade. I´ve always had a sensitive stomach but last prengnacy the food that made me sick was different (I´m normally lactose intolerant but then and during nursing I´ve even been able to drink milk but spinach made me sick). So I figure now I have to start from square one figuring out what set me off (it´s not nausea at all with that I can always tell food aversions right away).Â

I´m also a bit concerned since I´ve only been losing weight. The doctor was ok with that so far (I´ve overweight to begin with) but if I´m getting sick from the food here too that´s just going to make things worse (add in nursing too, which makes it even harder to get in enough calories). I´d love to hear any suggestions. We´re waiting for our insurance to kick in (won´t be for 3 -7 weeks) so I don´t even have a doctor to call and ask.Â
