Special Days ideas please

Back when I was teaching we would have a "special day" at least once a month, like "Backwards Day" or "Crazy Hat Day" or "Pajama Day". I would like to sprinkle some of these onto our homeschool calendar throughout the year but I'm having trouble brainstorming because while Backwards Day is doable, my kids are likely to be wearing pajamas and/or crazy hats on any given day already. We did color days when ds was younger and will again when dd reaches the appropriate age. I'd love any ideas you have!

Crazy hair style day? Clothes inside-out day? Color your hair day (get spray on stuff that washes out.)

Hmmm, we did a lot of these at my high school (went to one those schools with crazy school spirit weeks, lol).  The ones I remember are Toga Day (wrap up in a sheet over one shoulder), decade days (60s, 70s, 80s, etc), and movie/book character days.  HTH!

I think it would be fun to have days for different historical time periods.  Or for different cultures (I was trying to 'quickly' turn my dd into a Japanese girl today!).  Tie it in with what you are studying.  We are planning on having a "dress as favorite book character" day with our book club.  Sometimes these "fun" days are more fun with others.  If you do things with a hs group/co-op perhaps do this with them.  It is fun to see what others come up with.
