Yes! Worth reading!
Even my husband is into this book. Prior to very recently my H was not interested in any personal growth, self-help at all.
I find myself incorporating it in everyday life.
If I find myself getting frustrated with my children I try to see what part of myself is being exhibited in them that is pushing my buttons. If I see my daughters refusing to let me wash their food-stained faces I become really angry. Then, I realize that my hair isn't combed and I often skip a shower, etc. in order to get things done.
I find it helps with so much, particularly in dealing with my husband. Instead of spending lots of time getting angry with my H over his disorganization I look at the office and how I often misplace or procrastinate things also.
My H will use it too. We were having a heartfelt discussion about past actions of his, how they deeply hurt me and the ramifications of those decisions. Then, instead of going into defensive mode he surprised me by saying, "I am selfish and insensitive. I guess I need to own that." By owning it you can stop acting it out and act the way you wish to.
I bought it on tape so it was easier for us to absorb (in the car). We haven't listened to the second tape yet but will soon.
What other books have you read and why do you think they didn't work for you?
