I've been a student of traditional Japanese karate for the last two years and have found it so beneficial, spiritually, mentally, and physically. Wanted to see if any other mamas pursue karate or other martial arts, or if any mamas were curious they could find out more here.
I practice Seido karate, which incorporates Zen meditation practice into their training. I have a green belt, which means I can fight now. This school doesn't let you fight beforehand, because it's not about beating other people up.
It's also been amazing for my confidence, my posture, and my strength. I never thought I could be stronger than I was in my 20s, but I realize now that I wasn't in very good shape in my 20s!
