what to do with old disposable cameras

Thread Starter

have about a half dozen disposable cameras left over from our wedding reception (in 2006).  were never used and was hoping to freecycle them, but they are too old to use (they say they need to be developed by 12/2007).

just wondering how to dispose of them.  i'm pretty sure i shouldn't throw them in the trash.  does anyone know?

I would offer them on Freecycle or Craigslist anyways, just mention that they are "expired" in your post.

If the film was kept in a stable environment (not subjected to wide swings in heat, cold, humidity, etc) then the film might still be okay.

i thought of that, but i'm pretty sure they no longer even work.

i'm trying to be careful about what i throw in the trash, but not sure what to do with these instead.

Actually freecycle/craigslist them.  The kids at my local high school art club/photo club use them.  They play around with them, try to develop the film ect.    Also my library has a class called 'dis-assemble' where 5-12 yr olds take apart household stuff.  They are always looking for donations.  So get out there and list them... you never know who is looking for such 'good stuff'.

I forgot...http://www.invent.org/camp/default.aspx  is always looking for donations.  If they have a camp near you drop it off, the kids will love you for it.  My son went to camp here for 2 years and loved it!
