Right now dd is 4.5 (33 pounds, 41 inches I think, but I can never remember for sure without measuring her!). She rides in a Nautilus in our Saab 9-5 and in a Fisher Price Safe Voyage in our '92 Volvo wagon. We have a '90 Toyota pickup that we love and that she rides in for short trips occasionally in the front seat (there are no airbags) in the FP. The Volvo is getting pretty rusty and it's almost time for it to go. The Toyota has been the most reliable and wonderful vehicle we've ever owned, but I'd like to get down to 2 vehicles. So I'm thinking it would be great to have the Saab as our main car, and a truck with a back seat that dd can ride in. She would usually ride in the Saab. In a perfect world, we'd be able to find a truck like this:
Â
- 4 cylinder
- small and simple like my adorable Toyota
- Made by Toyota if possible
- back seat that the FP can fit in (same frame as a Marathon). I'd be fine with a jump seat if you could buckle a carseat in.
- Not crazy expensive
- We aren't at all leery of older cars with lots of miles if it's a good model and in good condition.
Â
If we found a good truck that a simple high-backed booster fit in better than the FP, we'd replace the FP. I know nothing about truck models. I have no idea if such a think exists. What do you truck-driving mamas have?
