Un-weaning after pregnancy...any sucess stories?

Thread Starter

I tried to make it through the pregnancy without weaning ds... but we didn't even make it into the second trimester.  Each session was making me puke more and I was super douper irritable (read: MEAN) with him, so dh and I decided it was best to wean.

I know he's going to ask to nurse when this baby is born, and I have no qualms over nursing a 3+yr old or tandem nursing.

But... It's been 6 months.  Has he completely forgotten?  I don't want to end up more sore than normal pp if he ends up having a horrible latch now...

Is it worth even venturing down that road?  Or just set limits and keep it the way it is?

Anyone been there, done that?  I want to hear the good and the bad... Just trying to figure out what we're going to do.

I'm in the home stretch, so I need to figure this out.

maybe try seeing if he will latch now? some kids forget how to latch within days, others remember months later.

I've started a couple of thread on this but haven't seen much response.

DS is almost 16 mos, and last 'nursed' (or at least latched) at 12 mos. I'm days away (hopefully) from delivering, and I am going to try my darndest; but I'm not getting my hopes up. Looking at him now, he's so different from 12 mos. I'm praying that we can at least go back to night nursing so everyone can get some sleep!!!
