I love my nursing cover...

I don't want to, but I do.

With my first DD I wanted to be that brave mom that wasn't afraid to nurse anywhere.  I didn't want to get a cover because I didn't feel like I should have to!!  The consequences of that were though, that I would leave if she needed to eat, hide in a bathroom, try to keep a blanket on me or not go out at all for fear she might need to eat.  I was both afraid of the boob showing but also my belly fat.

Now, with my cover, I nurse everywhere, fearlessly. I have nursed DD2 everywhere with no worries.  It might be part that she is my second but I do think that the cover has given me so much more comfort and freedom.  I wish I would have gotten it the first time around.

Anyways, I know that we shouldn't NEED to use a cover but I just wanted to reassure mom's that you can still be a lactivist and use a cover! smile.gif

Way to go!  As far as I'm concerned, Whatever helps you nurse your baby is great!  I'm cold all the time so I often use my scarf as an impromptu cover.

I loved mine for a time too, especially in the early days when I had horrific oversupply.  Wearing a cover doesn't make you LESS of anything.  To each her own, right? thumb.gif

I completely agree! I didn't get one until dd was 9 months or so and kicked myself one I realized how great it is. I spent the first 9 months struggling with a blanket, which would not stay put no matter what I did. Once I got the cover, I could just sit back and relax...I think it will be my signature baby shower present from now on, it really takes a lot of the stress out of NIP.

What kind of cover do you have? Our church doesn't have pews-only chairs and I'd really like to find a nursing cover so I can comfortably nurse in church without showing anything.

I have a peanut shell.  I got it used from Craigslist and I like it a lot.

I have an udder cover. Worst name ever, but it's simple and works great.
