bedtime nursing 22 month old

Hello all!  i knew mothering was THE place to come for help with this!  My 22 month old nurses only at bedtime (and sometimes during the night) and I'm not ready to wean BUT...what do you do when he won't let anyone else put him to bed?  DH would like to do this sometimes and we have two other kids who would like mommy some time, but without me he stays awake and fusses.  We tried a bottle with whole milk and he wanted none of that.  This is more of a recent problem- like the last few months. We don't have any EBM to try, but honestly I don't think that would make a difference.  Suggestions???  He's spending the night by grandma's later in the week so I'm EXTRA worried.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you!

My DD nurses to sleep at night(still!) but can fall asleep on her own(at preschool, with nanny last yr,etc) There is one night a week that I don't do bedtime since I'm out. DH puts her to sleep. It took a couple weeks but now she loves it and has no problem. It is a special time, he tells her story, they cuddle, etc. Maybe your DH could come up with a consistent 'way" of putting your LO to sleep, then over time they can look forward to it! Could you go out for a bit and have your DH try? Maybe shopping, or meet up with a friend, etc.? I always worried when my DD would spend the night at my parents. It caused some worry but everything was fine. DD could handle not nursing, and just having grandpa or grandma cuddle, sing, etc. You may be surprised with the outcome when he's with your parents! Good luck! IMO, sometimes it's actually more stressful for us then the child...
