Ending Weekly Ads

I know there's a website where you can put in your address to have companies stop sending catalogs, btu does anyone know of a movement to end ads from grocery stores? Every week I get (and recycle) about 20 huge pages' worth of ads. People, I know what potatoes, toilet paper, and ground beef look like! I don't need a 2x6" picture of every single thing in the store! I recently got a menu in the mail from a new Asian restaurant. They fit the whole menu on one 8.5x11" sheet of paper. If I am going to get ads, why can't they go to that style instead of sending out a small magazine?! Or, why not do like Sunflower Farmers Market or JoAnn and only send ads to those who sign up for them? The paper waste is ridiculous and infuriating! I almost want to collect all the ads I get for a month and send them back to the head honchos but I'd rather go about it more politely. So...anyone know of a pre-written letter to send out (by email, of course!)?

Even ones that aren't actually inserted in the newspaper are often distributed by the newspaper, you might consider calling them.   I will let you know though, that you may want to consider donating them to a local frugal organization, as some people can do amazing things with coupons and such.
