Would you move if....

Ok, we have moved to AZ, and before we moved I checked and made sure there was a temple in the town we would be living in.  Unfortunately, the temple doesn't seem to exist anymore.  So now, we are living 2 hours from the nearest one.  I have thought about moving to a town an hour up the road which would place us halfway between dh's work and a synagogue.  Would you move if you were in this situation?  I can't see spending the next few years with no Temple, no Religious school for the kids, no religious community of any kind.  On the other hand, we could go up to Tuscon once a month and take the kids on Sundays for Relgious school, but that could get quite expensive.

So the question is, would you uproot everyone and move, and stay and drive ALOT!?

 I wonder what happened to the temple you saw listed as being there? Do you have any old contact information for it you could check into to see what happened? Is there still a religious community there, just without a formal gathering place any more? If you could find a community of people to connect with it might be okay to make the long drive a couple of times a month as long as you have the day to day connection, support and encouragement where you are living.

If you can't find a community where you are, I would consider moving if I were in your situation but it would not be an easy decision to make. Either way you will have to do a lot of driving. If you move to the halfway point between work and your religious community you will always be driving somewhere in one direction or the other.

I tried e-mailing the address that I found listed, but there was no phone number listed.  I'm going to keep looking into it and hopefully I can find someone who can let me know where the community went to. I can't imagine they all just disappeared. LOL

Yes.  I would absolutely move.  it is so important to me that I would even visit any parish ahead of time to make sure it was good before I moved there.

But would that mean that your dh would have a 2 hour drive each way to work every day? That doesn't seem right either - you would have the community but you would need it more than ever because you would have no family time!

I hope you can find some information and a good solution to this for you.
