I HATE OSOCOZY!! Should I put my 6 week old in Premiums?

I really hate my prefolds.  I really do.  DS is in the infant size Osocozy unbleached prefolds and I have a really hard time getting the snappi on.  The material barely overlaps enough to keep the snappi off of his skin and his whole diaper area has red marks when I take it off.  He's only 6 weeks old and 11.5 lbs and this has been happening for nearly as long as he's been wearing these dipes!!  These are marketed by the company for up to 15 lbs.  Measuring them myself I find they are only about 11 inches across washed (compared to GMD's 12.5 inches washed).  I feel ripped off.  They are VERY long but very narrow.  The next size up I have is "premium" (13.5" x 19" washed, almost a 3 inch longer version of GMD's medium).

Should I just switch him and ditch these cheap diapers?

ADD: I have him in a premium and he has a blimp for a butt.  They literally have to be almost folded in half so they don't go up to his ears.  19 inch long diaper... baby who was 21.5 inches 4 weeks ago.  I don't think whoever designed these diapers had a brain in their head.

i say ditch and go for gmd.

i can't understand the length on others diapers either.  maybe for heavy wetters, but i've never had a need for extra material.  and yes, the width is where babies usually outgrow.

my dd2 used gmd yellow from birth till they got too narrow at 10m/16lbs.  went straight to brown, with a small fold down.  i've found them to be a very trim fit

There are lots of options out there for short-wide prefolds instead of the standard sizes.  GMD is probably the most popular, I've also heard lots of good things about Imagine prefolds and Diaper Rite prefolds which seem to have similar dimensions from what I recall.  Another option are the "capri" sized Little Lions prefolds, they even have these available as seconds once in a while.  And if you are handy you could always just trim your premium prefolds to remove the extra length - maybe the piece you remove could be used as a doubler since they are so long?  I hope you find a solution that works for you, that sounds so frustrating!
