Zoloft, Inositol and St johns wort hmmmm

Hi All! I'm 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant now. This is my second pregnancy. I've had issues with anxiety and adhd, light depression after my daughter was born. I have been on zoloft before with relief but at one point was on a high dose 100mg and it made me feel numb. I need advice on starting zoloft now or waiting till my son is born and then trying st john's wort and inositol. I have been very impatient and irritable lately especially towards my spirited 4 year old. I have cried almost daily for the past maybe 2 weeks. I did see my therapist today and it did help to talk things out. I hadn't seen her in over a year. I'm not sure what to do. I suspect I will go into labor soon. I had my daughter at exactly 38 weeks. Hmmm I'm going to talk to my husband too. I don't think that I can take inositol while pregnant.

whatever you do, don't combine zoloft with the st john's wort....

Thanks I definitely won't be doing that. I'm hung up on waiting it out until the baby is born. I was on the verge of tears three times today!

Are you sure you can't do inositol while pregnant (I don't know/haven't researched it but it's a b vitamin and water soluble isn't it?)

Vitamin D helps some people--particularly if there is a deficiency (and you don't want a def. pregnant or nursing anyway). Do you know your D levels are optimal?

You may not need the St. John's Wart with Inositol. I'd feel more comfortable nursing on inositol than the other two (I did nurse on SSRI/I didn't know about inositol at the time).

Thanks sbgrace. I do take vit. d about 4,000 iu daily maybe I should take more. I read that inositol can cause contractions so that's why you can't take it while pregnant other than that it's totally safe. I've heard great things about inositol.

I'm curious why you can't take st. john's wort while pregnant. I used it for a while while I was pregnant.

I'm assuming you're taking your omega-3's ?  They kept me very stable through both my pregnancies.

Hugs to you. I say do what feels right to you.

Here is some information on St John's Wort here:

It probably would be okay for me to take it now since I'll be full term in a few days.

huh. thanks for the info, that's interesting. I've never felt any affect on my uterus while taking it. I had no idea it even affected that part of the body. go figure.
