I would like another Beta...would I be out of line to ask?(mult m/c ment)

I have had 3 miscarriages in the last 6 months (sure been pregnant a lot though). All of the m/c were very early, as in, my Beta never got above 30, at least not measured above 30. So they were technically chemical pregnancies and the doctor let me keep on trying. Oh, and I am 40 yrs old and due when I am 41.

My first beta this time was 37 and the 2nd was 111. Fine and all. BUT, I would really like another. I just keep feeling like "IF I am still pregnant in a few weeks...."

I have a sonogram Feb 3. Would I be out of line to call the RE in the morning and ask for another Beta?

You should ask if it would put your mind or heart at ease. I asked my GP for quants. Remember though that an ultrasound is a more reliable way to see progress once your hCG levels have reached between 1,000 - 2,000mIU/ml.

It's definitely NOT out of line to ask. I have asked my midwives for betas, u/s, etc... and simply told them that I was so worried and that it would help ease my mind and I reminded them of my losses. They never said no.

This!! I've done the same in the past (had 4 losses) and my OBGyn never said no. I also asked for many u/s's once I got past 5 weeks so I would know what was going on. It is always okay if it eases your mind!
